Same symptom, different approach. Different symptom, same approach.

Many patients ask me how chinese medicine can help reduce their symptoms, but why the other person who has the same symptom needs a different approach.

The answer for this is simple. patient A and patient B may both have for example constipation, but patient A will also have other symptoms than patient B. for example patient A: constipation, irritable, sleeps bad, has a lot of stress, thirst... patient B constipation, reflux, sleeps good, headaches, cold hand and feet.

This means that even though both have constipation as a main problem, Chinese medicine will have a look at their other symptoms to see if we need blood moving and heat cooling herbs (patient A) or lubricating, damp expelling and warming herbs (patient B)

The same analogy goes for the opposite: different symptoms, but same approach.

  • Patient A: facial paralysis and deafness 1 day, dry mouth, painful throat, bitter taste, stiffness of tongue.

  • Patient B: influenza 1 day, headaches, nasal congestion, aversion to cold, fever 39,5C, sore throat.

Both patient A and B will receive same formula and herbs although the dosages of the herbs may differ and also the length of days to take the formula.

This is why chinese medicine works very well with people, it is fit to all your symptoms at the time of consultation. We can easily adapt and modify formula and herbs accordingly.
